Our Approach

Canine Human Connection is a professional dog training service focused on strengthening the relationship between people and their dogs through clear communication and positive reinforcement.

Training begins with understanding how dogs learn, think and make decisions. From there, I guide both ends of the leash toward calm, confident leadership built on trust and consistency.

Every dog is unique. That's why training is personalized, practical, and designed for real-world success – whether you're building foundational obedience, improving behavior, or deepening your bond.

My journey with dogs began when I was just 14 years old through a school work-training program. I spent my lunch breaks sitting with the quarantined dogs at the local humane society - nervous, unsure dogs that simply needed patience and understanding. That experience changed my life and sparked a passion that has now grown into over 20 years of hands-on work with dogs.

Over time, I've worked at a dog daycare for 18 years, trained under two graduates of the San Francisco Dog Academy and became a AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator. During this time, I've worked with and trained more than a thousand Santa Fe dogs and their owners. But more than certifications, what drives my work is understanding how each individual dog learns. I don't believe all dogs learn the same way - and neither do their humans. My training style adapts to both the dog and the owner, creating clear communication, confidence and trust on both ends of the leash.

My goal is simple: help families build dogs that are more responsive, less reactive and more focused - not through force, but through understanding. I love seeing owners feel relieved, empowered and finally connected with their dog.
At home, I share my life with two rescue dogs - Finn, an 11-year-old Vizsla, and Jonsey, a 5-year old Rat Terrier. Seeing the joy and confidence dogs have brought into my own life is what I strive to pass on to every client and every dog I work with.

I proudly serve Santa Fe, New Mexico and surrounding areas, offering one-one-one training, behavior consultations, behavior modification, real-life public training sessions, neighborhood walks, loose-leash walking lessons, solo and group park visits, and nail trimming.
